Weekend Food Trip at Eat & Go

We dined at Eat and Go in SM Megamall more than a month ago. What actually persuaded us to try this place was their 369 promo. For only Php369.00, we would have two main entrees, each costing Php175.00, one salad and two drinks. We ordered another main entrée for Justin’s yaya.

We had Seafood Salad, Sesame Back Ribs, Peppered Chicken and Chicken Saltimbocca.

Seafood Salad, Php155.00

Lettuce, crabsticks, calamari, shrimp, croutons, all-mustard dressing

This salad was okay, but the serving size was too small for sharing.

Sesame Back Ribs, Php255.00

Oven-baked sesame barbecued baby back ribs, served with two side dishes of your choice from roasted pepper rice, pasta of the day, corn and carrots or baked beans

This was hubby’s order. According to him, the baby back ribs were tender, but they were lacking in taste. For his side dishes, he chose pepper rice and pasta of the day. The spaghetti carbonara that was given to him didn’t have any meat at all, plus the pepper rice tasted quite ordinary.

Peppered Chicken, Php175.00

Stir-fried strips of chicken with bell peppers, celery and onion, served with two side dishes of your choice from roasted pepper rice, pasta of the day, corn and carrots or baked beans

This was my order that I had to share with my son. I chose pepper rice and corn and carrots as my side dishes. The peppered chicken was okay, and the corn and carrots tasted like, well, corn and carrots. There was nothing special about the pepper rice, too. It’s just plain colored rice to me.

Chicken Saltimbocca, Php175.00

Oven-baked chicken fillet stuffed with ham and cheese. With Saltimbocca sauce, served with two side dishes of your choice from roasted pepper rice, pasta of the day, corn and carrots or baked beans

This was what we ordered for Justin’s Ate, but I had to taste this, too, for my review. The chicken was served cold, and it tasted bland. Like my husband’s side dish, Ate’s spaghetti had no meat also. I liked the baked beans, though; it was flavored just right, and it was served hot.

We saved more than Php250.00 because we availed of their Php369.00 promo, but we really didn’t think the savings were worth it. We should have carefully gone over their menu to find the best food picks at Eat & Go.
