Have You Tried Acai Berry?

I’ll be turning 40 in a few weeks. As much as I’d like to stay 20 forever, I simply can’t. Aging is a fact of life, and nobody is exempt from getting old. There are ways to slow down the aging process, however, such as by exercising, eating healthy and taking nutritional supplements. And those are exactly what I’m doing.

Early last year, I started using the stairs to go down and up to our condo unit every morning. I think this has helped me maintain my weight in 2011, which I hope to replicate this year. I have also benefited from this daily regimen when I had my first treadmill exercise stress test done last November, which showed that my exercise capacity is high.

I have also been carefully planning our weekly menu at home since last year to include more fish, vegetables and fruits in our diet. I usually buy fish rich in omega-3 to boost our good cholesterol to help prevent heart disease.

I have also started taking vitamin E supplements last year to help prevent diseases and to make my skin look young and supple. I have heard about the health benefits of acai berry, and I would like to try this, too.

According to my research, acai berry is a small, purple fruit that tastes like chocolates and blueberries combined. It is rich in essential fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Acai berry is rich in antioxidants, which fight aging, harmful free radicals and illnesses like cancer and heart problems.

    My mom use to make acai berry smoothies, and they were delicious!
    She would put acai berries, strawberries, bananas, and milk.
