Last October, I was invited to the launch of the book Southern Eats at Mercato Centrale’s Open Tent in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. I wasn’t able to attend this event, however, because I had work that day, but I was glad that I was still able to receive a free copy of the book courtesy of Hinge Inquirer Publications.
Southern Eats is a restaurant guidebook to 50 restaurants you can find in the south of Metro Manila (Pasay, Makati, Bonifacio Global City, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Laguna and Cavite), all of which are recommended by Anton Diaz of OurAwesomePlanet.com.
The book is organized by city, and each city’s list of restaurants is arranged alphabetically. In the book, you can find the type of cuisine of each restaurant, a short story of its beginnings, address, contact details, operating hours, price range and payment modes.
We’ve only been to two of the 50 restaurants listed in the book, the Floating Island Restaurant inside Makati Medical Center and Kanin Club at Paseo de Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa, Laguna. This means we still have 48 more restaurants in the south to try.
Southern Eats is presented by Southern Living and co-presented by Avida. The book costs Php150.00.
