First Time at Romulo Café

If it wasn’t for the Nestle Acti-V Go Lounge event last Saturday, I wouldn’t be able to see this quaint restaurant in Tomas Morato. I and the other bloggers present at the event were given a sample of Romulo Café’s food offerings as we partook of their delicious snack buffet consisting of Pomelo Salad, Smoked Bangus Pate with Pandesal Chips, Sisig Wrap, Cheese and Vigan Longganisa Dumplings, Pinoy Nachos and Penne Carbonara with Vigan Longganisa.

Pomelo Salad

Pomelo Salad is salad with romaine lettuce, pomelo, salted eggs and Baguio strawberry vinaigrette. I loved the sweet pomelo and the crisp lettuce, but I put too much salted egg in my salad which made it well, a bit salty. That, however, was offset by the sweet and sour vinaigrette.

Smoked Bangus Pate with Pandesal Chips

I’ve never had Smoked Bangus Pate with Pandesal Chips before so I was really excited to try this especially when I learned that the pate was topped with hollandaise sauce. However, I got more pate than pandesal chips so I ended up finishing up the pate on its own. I liked it!

Sisig Wrap

This is pork sisig in tortilla wrap. Peachy of The Peach Kitchen, my seatmate during the event, liked this Sisig Wrap a lot and vowed to make her own recipe soon. I’ll definitely watch out for that!

Cheese and Vigan Longganisa Dumplings

These were one of my favorites, Cheese and Vigan Longganisa Dumplings. The combined goodness of cheese and the flavor of garlic in Vigan Longganisa was simply delightful!

Pinoy Nachos

If you’re tired of the usual chips, then you should try Romulo Café’s Pinoy Nachos. Instead of tortilla chips, they use kamote and taro chips. Sliced thinly and made perfectly crunchy, these chips are drizzled with melted kesong puti, keso de bola and tomato. Not only were they healthy, they were also delicious!

Penne Carbonara with Vigan Longganisa

Another interesting food offering from Romulo Café is this Penne Carbonara with Vigan Longganisa. This is carbonara with a Filipino twist. If you love Vigan Longganisa, then you’ll enjoy this, too.

I asked one of the wait staff for a sample food and drinks menu and noticed that their price is quite affordable and reasonable. I would like to go back here with my husband and son to try their other best-selling dishes.
