In four months, our son will be turning 8, and a month after that, my husband and I will be celebrating our 18 years of marriage. Special occasions like these are usually celebrated with our closest family members outside our home, in restaurants of our choice. That’s because we love eating out and discovering new gastronomic delights. This year, though, will be a little different because I intend to host a party at home to celebrate these two very important milestones in our lives. I know this will entail a lot of work, but with the help of everyone in my family, I know it can be done.
First, we need to prepare our home for these upcoming celebrations. We have to get rid of all the clutter in the house, like old toys and books, unworn clothes and shoes, and things that we no longer use. Removing all this mess will make our house look bigger than it really is. Then, we need to organize everyday items in our home to make it look cleaner. I’m also thinking of accessorizing our home to make it presentable for our guests; we might have to get a new tablecloth for our dining table and new slipcovers for our dining chairs, purchase a few decorative accents for our side tables, and buy grommet curtains at Swags Galore.
After sprucing up our home, it’s time to think about the party food and drinks. My husband knows a good caterer, so this won’t really be a problem. We just have to see their party menu list to finalize everything, and we’re all set! Now, all that’s left to do is choose the perfect date to hold our son’s 8th birthday party and our (hubby and I’s) 18th wedding anniversary celebration at home.
