In recent years, I have become fond of drinking instant coffee. I’ve tried different 3-in-1 coffee brands and found some that I really like. That doesn’t stop me, however, from exploring other exciting new flavors. This is the reason why I said yes right away to an invitation for the Owl Coffee Launch held at Cocoon Boutique Hotel last Monday, March 17, 2014.
The event was hosted by top jock Tony Toni of Magic 89.9’s popular Boy’s Night Out radio show.
Owl is Singapore’s leading coffee and tea brand. Established in 1956, Owl has already mastered the art of brewing fine coffee. “With Owl, you’re going to enjoy a great cup of coffee each and every time,” revealed Kerwin Wong, CEO of Transaxion Unlimited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Owl in the Philippines.
Small baskets containing Owl coffee and tea variants are placed on each table to allow the media guests to try these products first-hand. I tried the Owl Nanyang White Coffee 3-in-1 Gula Melaka, coffee with creamer and coconut sugar, which has a rich and nutty flavor.
Renowned Coffeeology Expert and Coffee Connoisseur Robert Francisco gave a coffee talk, sharing trivia and interesting facts about the different types of coffee beans, as well as the process of making instant coffee. He also talked about Civet Coffee or Coffee Alamid, which is the world’s most expensive coffee. After his informative talk, he prepared iced coffee blends, mixing OWL coffee with choc-nut, cookies and cream, etc.
Owl has several coffee and tea variants to choose from, which include the following:
• 3-in-1 Regular Low Fat (coffee with non-dairy creamer and sugar)
• 3-in-1 Strong (stronger coffee with non-dairy creamer and sugar)
• Kopi Siew Dai (milky coffee with less sugar)
• Kopi-C (milky coffee with evaporated milk as creamer plus sugar)
• Nanyang White Coffee (coffee with creamer and sugar)
• Nanyang White Coffee Gula Melaka (coffee with creamer and coconut sugar)
• Teh Tarik (foamy milk tea)
• Ginger Tea with Honey
I have tried all the Owl coffee and tea variants at home, and my favorites are the 3-in-1 Strong, Kopi-C, Nanyang White Coffee Gula Melaka and Teh Tarik. I can honestly say that the rich flavors and aromas of Owl coffee and tea make them great breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner companions.
For those who haven’t tried Owl coffee and tea yet, there’s the “Owl Made Me Do It” caravan that will be going around Makati, Pasig and Quezon City business districts until May 2014 to bring coffee lovers together. This campaign aims to show that with renewed energy and vitality through drinking OWL, people can be more productive in the workplace.
Owl is available in leading groceries, supermarkets, convenience stores and hypermarkets nationwide.
