Manam Comfort Filipino at Greenbelt 2, Makati

We had a short but sweet staycation at Fairmont Makati last February 27. We went outside the hotel for dinner and tried Manam Comfort Filipino at Greenbelt 2, Makati City. We tried two of their house specialties: Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon and House Crispy Sisig.

Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon (Medium), Php405.00

This was actually our first time to have sinigang with watermelon. The three of us had differing opinions about this Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon. Hubby was okay with it, while it might take a while for my son and I to get accustomed to its taste. I’m really not used to having a sweet-and-sour sinigang. The beef was tender, though, and the soup was served hot.

House Crispy Sisig (Large), Php385.00

Now the House Crispy Sisig was a totally different story. I liked it a lot! It was delightfully crispy with a hint of sweetness. I had a lot of this with rice! Lol! Hubby, on the other hand, liked the Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon more than this.

Iced Buko Sherbet Pandan, Php85.00

I wanted to see how Manam’s Iced Buko Sherbet Pandan is similar to and different from Mann Hann’s Buko Sherbet that I absolutely love. First is the color; this dessert is not immaculately white perhaps because – I’m guessing only, okay – they used brown sugar here. Second, it had jelly instead of pinipig. Third is the ice; the shaved ice they used here is not the melt-in-the-mouth type. Nonetheless, it’s cool, refreshing and so affordable.

Have you dined at Manam Comfort Filipino, too? What’s your favorite dish here?
