Bamboo Café at Anvaya Cove Beach & Nature Club

Bamboo Café is an all-day dining restaurant inside Anvaya Cove Beach & Nature Club (Anvaya Cove) that offers Southeast Asian cuisine. We went to Bamboo Café thrice during our birthday weekend getaway at Anvaya Cove. We ate dinner there on our first night, breakfast buffet the next morning, and dinner again on our second night. I only took pictures of our dinner food, so that’s what I’m going to talk about in this write-up.

Dinner (First Night)

Steak Fries, Php165

These Steak Fries, thick-cut unpeeled potatoes served with ketchup and mayonnaise, are seasoned just right. These fries are for our 12-year-old son who can survive on fries, lots of them, as his meal whenever he doesn’t like the dish I cooked. It’s nice to have options for a dip, although he only prefers ketchup for his fries. This is kid-approved, in terms of taste, texture, and amount of serving.

Beef Bulalo, Php620

I loved that this beef shank stew a.k.a. Beef Bulalo has lots of veggies! More than the meat, it’s the veggies that I’m always on the lookout for whenever we order soupy dishes. The meat is tender and the soup flavorful, but the price is a bit stiff if you’d ask me.

Gensan Tuna, Php395

Gensan Tuna is perfectly grilled yellowfin tuna with veggies and soy-vinegar dip. It’s succulent and tasty. I realized, however, that it wasn’t the best complement to the Beef Bulalo. We should have chosen fried fish, instead of grilled, to go with it.

Dinner (2nd Night)

Pork Sisig, Php225

What I remember about this Pork Sisig was the heat it left on my tongue. The spiciness overpowered the taste of the other ingredients because aside from the siling labuyo (cayenne peppers), it has lots of chopped chili fingers that were equally spicy. Hence, between this Pork Sisig and the Beef Kare-Kare, hubby and I favored Beef Kare-Kare.

Beef Kare-Kare, Php585

I loved the creamy peanut sauce of this Beef Kare-Kare! It has generous amounts of beef, ox tail, ox tripe, and veggies, too! Their shrimp paste was delightful as well! Our young man wouldn’t touch this, however, as he is not really fond of Kare-Kare.

Bamboo Café is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 MN. It is one of the restaurants inside Anvaya Cove, an exclusive beach resort in Morong, Bataan.
