Last December, I wanted to give a special Christmas present to a few individuals in my sister’s old church who helped us with Nanay’s medical needs and recent hospitalization. I found the perfect holiday present (Chicken Pot Pie) from Heaven’s Kitchen by Yummy as Can Be of mompreneur and fellow blogger Liz Cochico. I ordered three large Chicken Pot Pies for these special people and four mini Chicken Pot Pies for us, which became part of our small family’s Noche Buena spread.
What’s my first impression of the Chicken Pot Pie minis as I was removing them from the box? Boy, they smell so good! The appetizing aroma made me want to eat them right away, but I had to hold out till our Christmas Eve dinner.
So what’s inside my mini Chicken Pot Pie? I saw chicken bits, carrots, mushrooms, corn kernels, and green peas. How about its taste and texture? The pie crust was buttery and flaky, which nicely complements its creamy and savory fillings. All three of us (hubby, son and me) had one mini Chicken Pot Pie each. Yummy!
I also received an unexpected Christmas gift from sis Liz: her Double Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies. Gomawo! My teenage son, a certified cookie monster, ate most of them. Tee-hee! These slowly baked cookies (with no added preservatives) are soft and chewy and can last about a week at room temperature. Sweet and chocolatey and with cream cheese at that? What can possibly go wrong?
Heaven’s Kitchen offers the following: MAINS (Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Pot-Panadas, Lasagna, and Baked Ziti); DESSERTS (Keylime Burnt Meringue Pie, Amaretto Tiramisu, Old-fashioned Apple Pie, and Sugar-free Old Fashioned Apple Pie); and COOKIES (Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies, Double Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies, Milo Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Cream Cheese Oreo Cakes). They also have Bacon Jam, Gyoza, and Pinsec Frito.
