I’ve been looking at our old travel photos and found food places we’ve been to that I still haven’t blogged about yet, like After You Dessert Café in Central World, Bangkok, Thailand where we had their Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori and Durian Crumbstick.
Father and son shared this big serving of Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori. It’s cheesecake-flavored shaved ice — similar to the Korean bingsu — topped with sweet strawberries. You’d fall in love with this with just its looks alone! Taste-wise, it’s both dad- and kid-approved. Their bowl was simot-sarap, a clear indication that they both enjoyed it.
The Durian Crumbstick piqued my interest, so this is what I had for dessert. And oh, it did not fail to satisfy! The durian taste was evidently there, and it’s indescribably good and not too sweet. It has a smooth and creamy texture, too, just the way I like it. I could easily finish three of this in one sitting.
Our family trip to Thailand in 2017 was made more memorable because of the wonderful food we’ve had in this Land of Smiles. I would love to go back there to see the fabulous sights and savor their delectable homegrown cuisines all over again.
